Customs and Excise Amendment Bill and the Customs Control Bill
Dear Easyclear client,
RE: General Notices relating to Customs and Excise Amendment Bill and the Customs Control Bill
According to reliable industry sources there has been much progress made on the customs and excise amendment bill and the new customs control bill.
Both bills have been drafted and circulated for discussion for some time now and generated a lot of controversy, interest and discussion both at a regional and national level.
SAAF and various industry groups engaged with SARS frequently with much furor and it appears now that these bills are ready to be introduced to the national assembly on the 24 October 2013.
The bills will have some far reaching affects and will enable customs to introduce some long awaited new CPC codes for various trade entities allowing for better and more stringent control measures to be introduced thus mitigating and reducing the risk for trade.
We welcome these new bills and will keep you abreast of the changes as they occur.
